William Wheeler
William Wheeler was born in 1984 in North Brookfield, MA, a small town in rural central Massachusetts. His first encounter with composition came as the result of an online composition class offered at his high school when he was sixteen. It was through this class that he received a music notation program, he was so fascinated he hasn't looked back since.
Mr. Wheeler attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, being taught by John Bavicchi and Alex Kalogeras, graduating with a degree in composition in 2006. He has attended a master class at the Upbeat International Summer School, hosted in Croatia and taught by Joel Hoffman (College–Conservatory of Music), and has also attended a master class at Accent09, hosted at the College–Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati and taught by Martin Bresnick (Yale). His music has been performed in Boston, Croatia and Cincinnati. He is currently working towards his MA at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, CUNY, taking lessons under Jeff Nichols.
