Sean Glenn
Sean Glenn earned his Bachelor of Music in cello performance at Cornish College of the Arts in his hometown of Seattle, Washington, where he studied with Paige Stockley. It was at this time that Sean awoke and developed his interest in sacred music of the Anglican/Episcopal tradition. During his undergraduate years Sean began writing choral music, singing with various choirs as a tenor and alto, all the while fueling an interest in choral conducting. He sang for three years under Dr. Eric Banks in Seattle's distinguished a cappella ensemble the Esoterics, a group which specializes in the performance of Twentieth– and Twenty–first Century choral music. Sean also sang for two and a half years with the choirs at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle under Dr. Mel Butler and Brian Fairbanks.
Sean is currently a student in the MM program at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York City where he studies composition under Dr. Bruce Saylor and choral conducting with Dr. James John. Sean hopes that his study of composition will help him in his future as he pursues avenues in choral conducting, both secular and sacred. Sean has had three commissions from Saint Mark's Cathedral in Seattle, WA (a setting of psalm 31, a setting of psalm 145, and a recent setting of psalm 51 for the cathedral's Lenten services) and presently sings under Mr. Bruce Neswick at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC.
