John Hederman
John attended the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College where he studied composition with Shafer Mahoney. Before attending Queens College, he also studied privately with Daniel Ott of the Julliard School of Music. John now studies composition with Bruce Saylor. He has highly diverse musical interests and spent the majority of 2006 living in New Delhi, India studying Hindustani Classical music and the Hindi language first–hand. John is also fascinated with modern dance and has had multiple musical works choreographed and performed around the city, at venues such as BWAC in Redhook and DNA near City Hall. He currently performs throughout the city and in Boston with his Pop/Rock & Reggae band Downtown Eqiupment where he is guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter (youtube.com/downtownequipment).
