Jae–Myoung Kim
Born September 7, 1973 in Seoul, Korea.
I graduated Berklee College of Music in Boston with a BM of Jazz Composition. After graduating Berklee I went back to Korea. In Korea I taught jazz harmony, arranging, and music marketing and promotion in several Korean Universities. During the period of staying in Korea, about 8 years, I didn't compose because of personal reasons and jazz environment of Korea. This difficult time, however, gave me a chance to grow up and to see my life in more true view. After this long journey I decided to come back to America and also decided to live as a composer in the rest of my life. In Queens College I chose to learn classic composition instead of jazz composition because I'd like to have deeper and wider experiences on my music life. Now I'm studying with Professor Hubert Howe and under his flexible teaching style I'm creating my own style of music.
